Thanks for this recipe as I don’t let my kids use the toothpaste in most stores. I’ll have to send this to my MIL because I am sure she would love this.
Ours is 1/2 cup of alum-free baking soda, 1/4 cup of organic cold-pressed coconut oil. (we buy this for a great price at http://www.swanson.com) A capful of sunflower oil, Peppermint oil to taste. (This is in the wedding section at Walmart) I am sure there are other places that sell it too. It is only $2.00 for 2 bottles at WM though.) Then I add Stevia extract. I also buy this at Swanson, because it does not have maltodextrin in it, and it is 100% pure. You want to keep it on the counter, because if you place it in the fridge, it will harden. We like it pastey. If you like it more runny, then you can add another capful of sunflower. Sunflower is Awesome for the mouth. Have you ever done OIL PULLLING? I blogged about it here a couple years ago:

I do not do it anymore, because I add the sunflower oil to our tooth paste.
Baking soda
Coconut Oil
Sunflower oil
Peppermint oil
Stevia Extract
I have a friend that does use the the powdered Stevia. If it is all one has on hand.:o)
Michelle, Thanks so much for the toothpaste recipe!! I’d really like to try the one you use.
My mom has always used just baking soda to brush her teeth. She has the brightest whitest teeth, and never has to go to the dentist. I can’t get past the taste, but clearly it works.
