Keeping Milk Fresh Longer

Okay, maybe everybody knows this trick already. But, for those of you who might not know, if you add a pinch of salt to a gallon of milk it will make it last longer. Something about the salt preserves the milk and keeps it from spoiling as quickly. (Of coarse, around here milk doesn’t last long enough to spoil!)
You can also freeze it. Just pour a little out before freezing to allow for expansion. I try to use it within two months. When you’re ready to use it, just let it thaw in the refrigerator for a couple of days, or in a sink full of hot water.

Hi,
I’ve frozen milk for a couple of years now and I used to pour out a little each time until a friend told me there was no need. So I tried it – works great. Just stick it straight into the freezer. I’ve not had any burst on me.
Blessings!
