We set up a pool in our dining room (yep, cause our bathtub doesn't drain) for our home birth. We added the hot water to it using a garden hose by connecting the hose to our washing machine hook up. I was so thankful that our midwife warned us about getting a lead free hose. We were able to pick up one at Wal*Mart for less than $15. We also saw them at Sears. However, I do remember that the "cheapest one" did have lead in it. Thankfully, this is the hose we now use in our garden and for filling up the kiddie pool. :)

AnyG,

It would be interesting to find out... We get the cheapest ones too, so I'm afraid we'll be replacing them.

Wow, I never would've thought my hose could be dangerous! Seriously?? We use just the cheapest one, so I'm sure that's the most dangerous. *sigh* We'll have to check into it.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Oh & I just had a thought... we use a hose to fill the fish tank. I wonder if this is why we haven't been able to keep fish alive, in there?? Hmmm....

Oh cr*p! Now my garden hose my be dangerous?? Isn't it enough (as I have recently learned) that we shrink 1/16th of an inch in height for every year after 30?? Now I'm going to be short and have been pouring lead water on my garden. I need chocolate!!! That's still safe, isn't it?
