tea-party-rally (Medium)

Hopefully all of you have heard about this by now. I know most of the media has not covered it, or has covered it poorly, but it’s been all over the internet and conservative talk radio. I am proud to say that my husband was there, marching with all the rest of them. I wish I could have gone! Next year though… they’re planning another march in 2010.

The liberal media didn’t want to admit that the crowd was so large. They claimed there were tens of thousands there. But check out this aerial photo of the march! Reality check people, this was like a million people!! And these were not radical protesters, these were everyday American people, sick and tired of government taking over every aspect of our lives.

Please don’t just sit idly by while government takes control of EVERYTHING!  It’s time to take our country back!

To watch some awesome videos from the march, check them out HERE!

    Hi Linda,

I didn’t write a full post about what the march was all about because it would take me too long! But you can check out more about it at:

    http://www.freedomworks.org/

In short, people marched for different reasons, but overall it was about changing the way the government and congress are doing things. Less spending, less control, and more listening to what the people want!

Check it out!!! Lots of good info.

the liberal media all but ignored this story and tried to play it down, Ive never seen a more corrupt time in our country as now. It will take a radical movement to hold on to our freedom as we’ve always known it. I would tell everyone, PRAY …

Isn’t so frustrating the way the media acts? It is seriously scary how they only report on what they want you to hear. Sandra is right, I guess we just need to pray! Thanks for posting on this Kendra because I had no idea about this march….maybe because the media never covered it????

I have been against reckless governement spending for the last eight years, but I was considered Anti American and Unpatriotic for it ; now it’s considered patrotic because Obama is President? That seems like a double standard in my humble opinion. The facts show that the Bush Adminstration decimated this economy, and lied about the cost of the war in Iraq.Billions are unaccounted for. I wish there was this kind of protest about that while it was happening. Did people not care then because it was “their guy” in office? ( I am not trying to be snide, here, I am seriously very confused why all of a sudden people are worried about government spending yet were quiet when it was biggest spending spree in history) I am very leery about obtaining “fact” from 24 hour newschannels. We all need to remember that pundits like Glen Beck and Keith Obermann are paid to give their opinion, and opinion is not necessarily fact. We also need to remember that alot of Congressmen ( on both sides) will side with the corporation that gives them money for their campaign, even if it means twisting facts to do it and incite fear and paranoia into the good people of the country. Do I think Obama is trying to bring down this country? No, and I am not a Socalist, and I do not think he is either, nor do I think he’s trying to trample on my rights. I think he truly wants to help people. Do I think he may be moving too fast? Perhaps. Do I think something needs to be done about the healthcare system in this country? Yes! It’s out of control and costing us far more a year than any plan Congress could come up with. I don’t think a public option is necessary, but something does need to be done.
Have a nice day! God bless us all and the USA.

patriotism I guess is different things to different people. I come from a long extended family of George Bush haters, I voted for him, and like him, but as a president, I’ll be the first to say he was not good. I belive the iraq war helped to put our economy in the outhouse, it was the wrong thing, now afganistan is where the war should have been concentrated on. my father who was a couple of years away from retirement lost his job under the previous administration. my son’s out of work, and my husband , thank God, still has his job, but makes about a thousand dollars less a month than he used to. hospital bills? yeas, I even know about lots of extra costs, and I have insurance, plus over a thousnd dollars in extra costs my insurance didnt pay . but, do I think obama has the right plan to socialize medicine? no way,. the white house this year didnt recognize the national day of prayer, but hosted a celebration in the white house with muslims to start ramadan. now, that is worrisome to me, but, what do we christian conservatives really know anyway?

I am very proud of your husband for attending this tea party and not sitting idly by and watching. It surprises me at the people who know nothing about these and expect you to “tell ‘em all about it” instead of finding out for themselves.
I have attended teaparties in Nashville and they have largely been ignored by the local news. The mainstream media is in the bag for the current administration. If you aren’t aware of that, it’s time you wake up and take a good look at what they DON’T report.
The Democratic party has been hijacked by the liberals. It’s not the same party your Grandpa voted for. Frankly, I think liberals have a mental disorder. For example, there is something seriously wrong with a person or group that is for abortion but against the death penalty. It just makes no sense. Mind-boggling!! And the Republicans lines are becoming fuzzy as well.
The President and Congress are elected by us and they have become so corrupted, they have forgotten that they serve us, not vice versa. They do what they want or what their lobbyists tell them or pay them to do. The majority of bills are written by special interest groups. Look it up!! And Congress can’t take the time to read the bills, say they need a team of lawyers to decipher the bills, but in reality they don’t care! Besides the fact that most of our Congressmen are lawyers! Insane!!
I have watched CNN and MSNBC. I watched them for years. I started watching a little of FOX News every now and then. I came to realize there is a huge difference in reporting and what they are shoving down our throats. You will not learn anything from those other channels. They will not report on what you need to know, so you can’t possibly understand what’s going on.
Americans need to get a clue and come to grips with where our country is headed if we keep our heads in the sand for much longer.
