		<description>We have an artichoke rock in our kitchen (a la Alton Brown&#039;s advice).  To weigh the suckers down so they don&#039;t try to float.  Poor rock&#039;s turned green over the years.  :D</description>

lol, you&#039;re so funny! The tip of the leaf is the &quot;meat&quot;. The first couple layers of leaves have only a little meat on them; you can&#039;t bite through these leaves, just scrape the meat off the tip. As you get deeper in the tips get more tender and you&#039;ll be able to bite the tips off. You&#039;d understand better if you had a cooked one in front of you :) Hope that helps a little!</description>
