Grilled Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwiches

>25 January 2010

In honor of my Aldi score, I’ll share one of our favorite ways to eat bananas…

The Grilled Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwich

I’m telling ya, these things are SO good. If you like peanut butter, and you like bananas, you gotta try the combo! Just make a sandwich with one slice of bread spread with creamy peanut butter, and the other layered with banana slices, slap it together and grill it like you would a grilled cheese. Even my picky eaters love this one!!

This sounds great! We have always eaten pb and banana sandwiches, even on toasted bread sometimes, but I never thought of doing them grilled! I will have to try that. Thanks for sharing!

ok, stupid question. Do you butter the sides you grill? I always butter the bread before grilling.

    Jessica-

Naw, that’s a good question! What I do is butter the pan and put the sandwich in, then before I grill the other side I butter the pan again.

Yum! I loved grilled pb sandwiches, but have never added bananas. I have a couple of kids that will love this!

I have never had grilled peanut butter sandwiches, nor pb with banana, but it sounds good. I will say I found grilled bananas (slice lengthwise, coat lightly with oil, and throw on a bbq till heated through) to be fabulous (drizzle with caramel sauce and it is near heavenly). Enjoy all the bananas!

Isn’t this said to have been Elvis’ (the “king”s) favorite? LOL

Gotta try this, though – perhaps when I’m nursing and can afford the extra calories. :-D
