But it's not the snow/ice that's done it - I was making the Shabbat meal three Saturdays ago and went to move the boiling pan of water from the burner to make mashed potatoes, and it sploshed over the side and onto my sock. Which is worse than it sploshing directly on a foot, as the sock holds the burning water there. As a result, I sustained a third degree burn on my foot. It looks like I've been shot with a 12-gauge up close, and feels about the same. Then people told me the 'natural' cure was to put honey on it. So I did, and it hurt SO BADLY that I thought I was going to go crazy. After trying vinegar, bagbalm, and antibiotic ointment, I finally called the doctor, and luckily had silvadene on hand from a previous surgery prescription. But by then all the other goops caused infection, and my foot swelled up and turned purple on top of the burn issue. All this with a newborn and four little ones, besides! Be careful on that bridge. I had the same kind of problem last winter when one of our dirt/culvert bridges collapsed into flood waters. Husband sold his prized mustang to pay for the repairs, but at least it didn't prevent us from getting in and out. I hope a solution can be afforded soon! But I am so happy that you all are okay and don't mind being at home for extended periods of time! (I am off from nursing school AGAIN due to new snow falling.
