Cliff and I were just talking about this the other day, and admiring how self-sufficient you and Jerry have become. I was contemplating what my mental state would be after being cooped up in the house for 2 weeks, and it ain't pretty! Then again - staying as busy as you do would probably help a great deal! Anyway. But it's not the snow/ice that's done it - I was making the Shabbat meal three Saturdays ago and went to move the boiling pan of water from the burner to make mashed potatoes, and it sploshed over the side and onto my sock. Which is worse than it sploshing directly on a foot, as the sock holds the burning water there. As a result, I sustained a third degree burn on my foot. It looks like I've been shot with a 12-gauge up close, and feels about the same. Then people told me the 'natural' cure was to put honey on it. So I did, and it hurt SO BADLY that I thought I was going to go crazy. After trying vinegar, bagbalm, and antibiotic ointment, I finally called the doctor, and luckily had silvadene on hand from a previous surgery prescription. But by then all the other goops caused infection, and my foot swelled up and turned purple on top of the burn issue. All this with a newborn and four little ones, besides! Be careful on that bridge.
