Those of you who love the outdoors, and especially enjoy hiking, backpacking, camping, or just traveling in general, might want to check out the products offered by Tough Traveler the next time you are in need of durable packing equipment.

They also have a wonderful variety of Emergency and First Responder Medical Gear bags as well.

Based in Schenectady, New York, this company has continued making their products here in the U.S.A. for almost 40 yrs, and take pride in offering their customers with high quality items using American-made materials. Every bag is hand-made by skilled craftspeople. You won’t have to worry about your bag being made in some third world country sweat-shop!

The people at Tough Traveler “strive to use the most environmentally-friendly materials suitable, create as little waste as possible, and make products that are long-lasting to save resources”.

They offer a nice selection of baby carriers, diaper bag backpacks, and accessories which have been featured in Child Magazine and Parents Magazine. Though I have not had an opportunity to personally try one of these baby carriers, they look like they would be a wonderful piece of equipment to have on a day out and about.

They also carry just about every other type of bag and luggage that you can imagine:

Tough Traveler Child's Camper

  • Backpacks (including children’s styles as pictured above)
  • Bottle bags
  • Briefcases
  • Camera bags
  • Carry-ons
  • Computer bags
  • Day bags

  • Dog carriers and bags
  • Duffle bags
  • Electronics bags
  • Fishing bags
  • Garment bags
  • Hiking packs
  • Library bags

Tough Traveler Luggage

  • Luggage
  • Messenger bags
  • Phone bags
  • Pouches
  • Purses & Shoulder bags
  • Ski bags
  • Sports & Bike bags
  • Suitcases
  • Tote bags
  • Waistpacks
  • Wallets
  • EMS bags/RE-MED®
  • and more!

As you can see, you name it, they’ve got it!! Although the price of most of these items initially struck me as quite expensive, I quickly reconciled that it would be worth the investment in paying for something that would last for much longer than its cheaper counterpart.

Some specialty stores do carry Tough Traveler products, however most items are sold directly through their online store. Unfortunately, the majority of retail stores are carrying mostly imported goods, which are usually low quality and made in harsh work environments. That is why it is so important that we make a statement and deliberately shop with companies who sell American made goods.

I hope that the next time you are on the lookout for excellent quality, durable travel equipment and baby gear, you will consider purchasing from Tough Traveler!

Hey I just saw this and thought maybe you’d like to check out a company local to Fort Wayne, Indiana. It’s called HomeReserve.com it’s furniture you order online and have shipped to your house. It’s all made here, the fabrics are from here, the lumber, and foam! My husband works for them and they are a wonderful, christian owned company. Just thought you’d like to check them out! Thanks for this post it was great! We love camping.
