Well, It’s Happened Again…

>12 August 2010

My husband just called me to let me know. He’s lost his job. Again. He’s only been there for three months. But sales are down, the business is behind on bills, and they are letting people go. Unlike at his last job, we did not see this one coming. We thought things were going well for the new company Jerry has been working for.

Just wanted to drop in really quickly to ask you guys to say a prayer for us… again! Good grief. I’m afraid it’s not just us dealing with this problem. So, I should say rather, pray for our country. We are all in for a bumpy ride.

    Oh Kendra I am so sorry. I know that the Lord is holding you in his arms right now. He DOES have a plan…sometimes I just wish he would put a big billboard up to at least let us know the outline of that plan.

    Praying for you. We’ve been at this for 2 1/2 years now. Tim gets a job, only for him to be let go again. Usually he makes just enough that if we are VERY frugal, we make it another few months. :( It’s not been easy, but for sure, God has provided. Somehow, even with all the trials, we have not starved, gone naked, or been without shelter. God will provide.

    We are praying for ya’ll. My husband just lost his job on Tuesday, but thankfully we had a plan !! We have learned from our past experiences with “downsizing” and “reorganizing” that God pulled us through those times and He gave us the wisdom to have a plan this time.

    My husband lost his job last year and as you already know it’s a rough ride but what we learned from it was that God is always faithful. Money comes and money goes but God is always with us, caring for our needs. God really is a father that loves his children. As you go through this second job loss remember that you CAN handle all this through Christ who strengthens you and that God’s providence is for His glory and for the good of His people. So ride this next roller coaster with your hands up (in praise) because you have the knowledge that is constant care is never ending. Yeeehaa! Let’s go ;o)

    Oh Kendra, I’m so sorry! I’ll be praying for you as God brings you to mind. I understand to some extent . . . my hubby is self employed in construction, and the past 2 years have been SLOW. He has a couple small jobs going right now, but he has also been looking to possibly find a part-time job (or full-time if work comes to a complete standstill). It is cool to watch God provide for our needs–definitely helps increase our faith!! But it’s still not easy to go through unemployment or very slow employment. I hope your hubby is able to find a good job very quickly!

    Praying for you….we’ve been there this year too! :-( Thankfully my hubby is currently working, but we know all too well that it could all stop at any time. Praying for you, for everyone that is facing financial hardships…it’s really sad how messed up things have gotten. Praying for a true recovery, and praying that it comes sooner rather than later. {{{HUGS}}}

    Times are tough right now. Go for food stamps. I did when I was younger and it got me through a rough patch. I live near Miami and its not any better here. Forclosures everywhere. Its scary.

    Janis, I know times are tough, but if everybody goes for Food Stamps it’s only going to strain the economy further. I can’t.
