Men’s Gift Giving Guide: *Giveaway* An American Adventure: The Living Legacy of Jimmy Gentry DVD From Franklin Springs

>11 December 2010 1,388 views

*This Giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to the lucky winner, Diane in TX!

When I first looked at this film, honestly my initial reaction was, “Uh, this looks a little boring. I don’t even know who this guy is.” My husband spoke the same thoughts out loud. But we sat down to watch it anyways, and were both relieved to quickly realize that our first impressions were wrong. As with all of the other movies I’ve watched from Franklin Springs, An American Adventure: The Living Legend of Jimmy Gentry was both captivating, inspiring, and a blessing to watch.

The film tells the story of a man named Jimmy Gentry, who has truly become an icon for his hometown of Franklin, TN. If you enjoy hearing stories recalled from the earliest memories of the precious elderly saints of our day, you will relish the recollections of Mr. Gentry. From his childhood memories of living through the Great Depression, to being drafted into WWII and witnessing the atrocities of the concentration camps, and then back to his sleepy town of Franklin where he married his lifelong sweetheart, the stories he shares are sure to touch your heart.

At one point (I won’t tell you what it was) I totally bawled my eyes out. Perhaps it’s the pregnancy hormones making me such a sissy, but hearing the words of this humble man sharing some of the most intimate parts of his life was incredibly moving.

I love Franklin Springs. Every film they come out with is so pure, so family friendly, so… unHollywood. You don’t have to worry about violence, or language, or nudity, or any indecency whatsoever. Nothing but faith filled, thought-provoking movies with actual integrity. And this one would make a wonderful gift for a loved one this holiday season!

So, you wanna win a copy? Once again, the people at Franklin Springs have offered one of my lucky readers a chance at winning this beautiful DVD. All you have to do is leave me a comment below letting me know you’re interested. I’ll choose one random winner on Wednesday, Dec. 15th at 9pm EST. Winner will be announced here and contacted via email, so make sure you leave a valid email address.

Open to US and Canada.

Good luck! And be blessed.
