It’s another beautiful Monday on the homestead! I hope you’re ready for more of that good ol’ inspiration we’ve all come to look forward to from our growing online community!

The Homestead Barn Hop hostesses have an exciting new feature we’d like to introduce to our famous Monday link up! Each week, we will now be highlighting one article that really stood out to us from the previous week’s Barn Hop.

That’s right! YOU just might be featured on one of our Homestead Barn Hops!

Every Monday, Jill from The Prairie Homestead, Amy from Homestead Revival, and myself will each choose our own particular blog post to feature, so be sure to check out each of our selections… you never know when you’ll be in the spotlight!

Of course, it’ll be hard to choose just one from the well over 200 (and growing!) weekly linked up articles. And because I, unfortunately, do not have the luxury of reading every single one, I’d love to have you share your favorites with me each week as well!

And so, without further adieu…

This week I’d love to share with you one particular post that caught my eye.

Homemade Candied Organic Orange Peel by A Flock in the City

I’d never heard of candying citrus peels before, so when I saw this post I was very excited! I love finding new ways to reduce waste in the kitchen! Be sure to check out Tamatha’s blog to see what else she’s stirring up on the homestead!

Now it’s your turn! Link up and share something you’ve been excited to learn! What’s going on at the homestead?!

  • Thank you thank you thank you!!!! That was such a nice surprise. I almost didn’t do a post on those orange peels, I caught myself as I was getting started and thought maybe someone might find it interesting. I make them often as the family loves them. I’m so glad I did, I got such lovely comments. Again thank you for selecting my work this week. I really appreciate it.

When I was a kid (60’s shhhh) we made this every year at Christmas, since that is when they had alot of citrus available. We used grapefruit, oranges, tangerines and lemons too. We left the pieces in long thin strips. It was a tradition in our home to make this for gifts.
