giveaway

**This Giveaway is now Closed! Congrats to Kelly (kellypepin…).

If you love the idea of having a funky, more contemporary style chicken coop gracing your backyard, you’re gonna love the ideas and designs that authors Matthew Wolpe and Kevin McElroy have to share in their new book Reinventing The Chicken Coop.

Within these pages you will find 14 creative new coop layouts, complete with full color photos, illustrated diagrams, materials lists, and complete instructions for how to create your own unique hen house.

Although we already have our coop well established, I still enjoyed flipping through this book and gleaning ideas on how we can improve the interior design of our current coop.

If you’d like to own a copy of this new release, you can find them at Storey Publishing for $19.95.

But first, how about a chance to win one for free, courtesy of the awesome people at Storey?!

To get in on this giveaway, you can do any or all of the following for one entry each. *Leave a separate comment for each entry, as each comment is counted as the entry itself!

1. Simply leave a comment here letting me know why you’d love to own this book!

2. “Like” Storey Publishing on Facebook

3. “Like” New Life on a Homestead on Facebook (be sure to let me know if you’re already a fan there!)

4. Share this giveaway on your blog, or other Social Media/Networking sites

I’ll choose one random winner on Friday, Feb. 8th, 2013 at noon EST. Open to US and Canada. Good luck everyone!

This book would be so perfect. We live in the city so we need a coup that the neighbors will think is cool. This is the funny part. Most my gardening I do at my dads and he has chickens but I wanted 4 chickens at home. I don’t have Facebook so can I like them here :)

I’d love to win this! I have the entire family (well, except for one son in his twenties who seems convinced chickens are much like zombies, vicious kilers!?! No idea how he became convinced of this, can’t remember any vicious chicken trauma in his childhood!!) and am just waiting on our regional planning board to approve my application to raise chickens….my neighbours would love a funky coop design almost as much as I would!

Currently live in town. There isn’t an ordinance against chickens however the neighbors would be much more appreciative of a chicken coop similar to one on the book cover more so than the coop i had in mind, Would love a copy of the book. Thanks for the chance.

    And Then She Flew Away

I’m moving out of my parents house in Louisiana after Christmas this year, and to the “hunting camp” in Oklahoma. In LA we have a brick chicken house with double insulated windows (all picked up by Dad in the trash) but I have no bricklaying skills for building my own in OK. I’ll have to come up with some type of plans, so this book would be a great way to start.

  • Susie said:

I don’t do FaceBook, so I guess this is my best shot! We currently have chickens, but are in the process of having to move to my mom’s due to her health. I’m gonna have to have a new (oh-so sad!) chicken pen to house them in. So the book would be a great gift for me at this time! Have a great day!
