Vacations are nice and all, but there’s really no place like home. Honestly, I think I could go the rest of my life without another vacation.

Don’t get me wrong. We had a wonderful time hanging out with family during our annual family beach trip! My grandparents, my dad, my aunts, uncles, cousins, sister, brother-in-law, nephews… everybody was there.

In the evenings we all enjoyed dinner together, then gathered out in the front yard to play games. My grandma and I… well, my grandma really… totally creamed my husband and my aunt in Corn Hole. My cousin brought a mini inflatable bouncy-house for the kids to go crazy in while the adults played yard games. We all really had a great time.

The beach was nice. Not too hot, not too crowded. We had a canopy set up that me and the two littlest ones sat under while Jerry, Jada, and Ty played in the water.

Titus wasn’t the least bit intimidated by the waves. Jerry had to stay within an arms reach the entire time we were there, ’cause Ty had no fear of running out into the water and getting knocked down and rolled around in the surf. It was a little unnerving how unafraid he was!! But it was great watching him have so much fun.

He made a little buddy right away, whom he ran around and jumped waves with for an entire morning. (My guy is the one on the right.)

Jada spent her time collecting sand crabs and sea shells. She also found a massive shark’s tooth! I’m kicking myself for not taking a picture of her with it!!! She gave it to her great-grandmother, who has been collecting shark’s teeth for years. Which I thought was super sweet.

Xia stayed in the shade and played in the sand.

And baby Elias had fun in the shade as well.

I feel so blessed to have such a great extended family. It was really nice to have some time to spend with all of them.

But boy, am I glad to be home!! Garden… chickens… 24-7 internet access…how I’ve missed you all!!
