Hey there,

I personally home school using connectionsacademy.com. They are a public school, but I have the luxury of doing my son's lessons at his pace and on his schedule!! They provide all the materials (books and supplies) free of charge. There are live lessons (which he can attend IF he wants) and we are able to go to field trips with other students. I have my freedom to teach him my way, but yet have support from teachers as I need it.

Next year, when he's in third grade he will have to do the assessment tests, but that's not a terrible thing because this way I get to compare his results to other kids his age.

I just thought you may be interested.

We lived 114 miles from town. My wife wasn't a HS graduate and wasn't comfortable home schooling our two kids. I wanted three to fives kids and ended up with two great kids. I had to leave the ranch to move closer to town so the kids could go to public school. I wasn't impressed. I'm still here kicking :)

You have a great site.

You might already know abou this. On www.christianbook.com they have homeschool closeouts. some of the prices are drastically low. There are books for $20 going for 0.99 cents. Just thought you might find that helpful.
